Great that sound easy enough, read somewhere it wouldn't hurt hitting with a hair dryer as well?

Oh how true, waiting on fun vouchers to replace it with a welded job, not a Cross country one for personal reasons, OE style welded is fine And put a 9" fan on top, but already have big scoop with directional vanes inside so dont know if fan would be a benifit?

I’ve got a 8" fan on mine and its great even sitting at the lights would be cooling the whole engine bay down that’s for sure, I’ve also raised the back of my bonnet for more air flow out the back while driving. i have often wondered what the air temps the intercooler is getting as a thermo switch could be fitted and adjusted (40 -100 degrees) to turn on the fan when the cars working hard. or is that just something I’m thinking up as an excuse to add something else to the car haha

Seems to me it would only work when you really dont need it like crawling over a rocky section

You will find an intercooler doesnt do much work in low range. The best place to see if an intercooler is working efficiently is underload. Megatexture you could look at something thats kicks it in when you have stopped at lights as when your travelling at speed these fans wont do a thing.

your ic must have open fins to cool that much the fan i have is also 8'' and im not that impressed with it and my ic as welded ends
i guess its each to his own on this theory

So not worth putting on then or do they have some benefit, moving away from thread but have my answer

If you still have the original intercooler I would just replace it, chances are it is leaking anyway.

I don't think it will be of any benefit for you to fit an intercooler fan with that bonnet scoop.

There is also a lot of talk of bull bars deflecting airflow till 80kph+ also so may have some increased airflow below these speeds
That’s why i have mine on ignition and a kill switch and it’s only when I’m out playing i use it mostly. If there was a noticeable difference it would be staying on all the time lol but I’m all for running it running cooler

Scoop only comes into play at say 60k instead of 80k so they tell me but for $500 you can tell the difference. had it removed to spray it and felt a big difference, worth the money IMO and looks tuff to boot. tied some cotton on the bullbar not long ago nowhere near scoop, check next time a moth or such flies past, nowhere near the scoop always misses.

Thinking of making a perspex wing shaped thing to see if it can redirect air onto bonnet sooner {lower speeds} , bullbar definetely gets in the way untill freeway speeds
