Hey guys any recommendations on where to buy an oil catch can for a ZD30 Patrol?
I bought one from an ebay seller but I'm not happy with it and the bloke I'm fitting it for wouldn't be either. Do you generally plumb them back into the engine or just use a drain tap?
Cheers all.

Thanks guys I will look into these. Got a 3" mandrel exhaust so no cat converter in the way, but I would prefer to plumb it to make it maintenance free as it is for someone else not me.
Provent? can I find these on the net? Cross country I know of this truck has one of their intercoolers on it, beautiful workmanship.

The important part is to consider which ZD30 Patrol you have as onwards from GU4 version the engines no longer have the hole in the block for the drain to be connected as the previous versions. So in that case the alternative methods of draining the Provent needs to be figured out.

It's a GUIII so the hole should be there. I have got the Cross country kit with the Dawes valve in it and it looks to be the goods. will be fitting it in a few days once I finish putting the GU TD42T into the GQ to make some workshop room. Thanks everyone for their advice and information.

Has anyone used a fuel filter as a catch can? Does it serve the purpose? FUel filters are much much cheaper than catch can. Is the filters used in air compressors the one referred to as catch cans?

Thank you.

Sort of, but most here use the Provent 200, these are add ons to help prevent the MAF from getting dirty.
Catch cans are affordable ,cant see why you'd need to use fuel filter type

I fab'd my own, using a generic turbo catch can from supacheap. Search me on the WApatrolforum if your interested in how I done it.

Here is my effort --> Run the hose down the mudguard and chassis. Not seen but easily reached.

Get some XF Flacon heater hoses mate. Might be XE. Can’t remember. These are straight hoses which are 13mm - 22mm. Good enough for the Provent can. Works well.

I got the flashlube pro one. A comparison I was reading at the time had the flashlube catching more oil than the provent (at slightly more pressure drop), so that's what I went with.

All fittings and what not can be had from ebay.

I fitted a flashlube catch can pro too. They are a great compact size.
Installed on a TD42, not a ZD30 but I used two plastic barbed reducers. From memory they were 19mm to 16mm and 16mm to 12.5mm.
I've got photos and details of the install here:
