So it's taken me a while but I finally found a nice straight ute at a reasonable price

Picked up my GQ or one of Fords finest a couple of weeks ago and gave it a good 700km test drive home from Sydney.

1991 Ford Maverick
TD42 Non Turbo
294000km
2.5" exhaust
Snorkel
Steel Bullbar

Since I got home I've given it a service and got some new tyres put on and also put in a stereo and speakers as the drive home was pretty long and boring with no music or passengers.

Next addition will probably be some driving lights as the head lights aren't great and definitely a spare rim or two as I don't fancy a split rim for the spare. After that I'm thinking maybe tray mods as it's massive or just bolt on some toolboxes for storage and keep the big tray as it'll probably come in handy. Thought about possibly a lift but not sure of the best way to go about that with leafs.

Any other suggestions

Go the utes. With your suspension it depends on what you wanna do possibly pair some 2" extended anti-inversion shackles with some 2" lifted springs and she will be sitting quite nicely.

Good straight Rig, somewhere to let the imagination run wild.

Thanks for the comments, can't wait to get out and have a proper crack in it soon.

Don't have a winch bar so thinking of investing in a hand winch for time being just as a bit of security if out on my own.

I have a mate who has used revolver shackles very successfully on his MQ. He uses it as a comp rig and keeps up with the big boys and has never had an issue with these shackles. The articulation is awesome.
