Hey guys, nothing to do with Patrols but i thought it best to bring this to eveyone's attention seeing as we all have these in use in and around our houses....... Please note this is only for certain electrical products date stamped (manufactured) from February this year. Please pass this info on to everyone you know, it could save someone's life.

Please read attachment for full details

Mods please move this to a more appropriate place if required........ so it doesn't get buried to quickly.

Thanks

Clunk

edit: I've attached a more specific PDF on what products were affected

How can this happen? All the Australian Standards get thrown out if it comes from ChinWanDia.
An example of what we can look forward to in all imports including our food we eat. Arrrghhh

Once something like this is in the consumers hands thats where it stays, not like a car where they have some chance of contacting you due to rego / warrantee records.
Needs a huge ad campain to recover leads like these.
HPM started manufacturing OS years ago, it was said at the time safety issues will be a problem and there are other companies that have followed them.
I'm a sparky and the buck stops with me if I were to supply a lead in good faith.
More crud to worry about!!!!

I work for a wholesaler and we have contacted all the account customers who have purchased any of these leads. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the cash sales we have done on them

It makes me wonder how many times this has happen but hasn't really been fully brought out to the publics attention..... all very well and good putting an ad in the paper but not every one reads the papers and not everyone reads the whole thing. Announce it on the radio, stick it on the tv for effff sake

Even if you got a lead tagged today and tomorrow someone dies from it that tag is irrelevant it just means at that time it was tagged it was in good nick. if you have some leads id swap them last thing you would want is injury when you know they have been reported faulty.

what are they doing swapping them or just refunding

They are swapping them. If you speak to the rep I'm sure they would be able to organise a refund.

Exactly, i am Certified to Test & Tag all my own gear, but if i had some of those leads, i would still take em back regardless, who knows, they may have other faults that may not appear for years, why chance it when death is so permanent !
