5th or overdrive gear replacement kit

Hi all. I shredded the splines on the main shaft and overdrive gear while driving across Africa. Left the car in South Africa and have come back to the UK to get a replacement kit, ie. longer splines etc, but Nissan here knows nothing about this problem the older patrols have and dont have a part number or even a proper parts catalogue. Not had any response from the Nissan club here either, so am hoping someone in Australia can put me on the right path.

you may need to give a bit more info Gupster such as is it petrol/diesel, model, year etc

Quite right Aussiemale. Its the FS5R50B gearbox fitted to a 2001 3.0 diesel Patrol.

There was a revised shaft for this problem.
