hay i joined to get help and meet fellow 4x4 lovers , ive owned 3 4x4 2 hilux witch where good lifted and locked but wanted sumthink more comfy so brought a 2.8 1999 gu lol wish i didnt ,

ive had a lot of problems with motor even after putting a roo dp chip in im runing 37,s and 8 inch lift and want to do a 4.2 conversion can anyone help me out with pros and cons of doin it , i got quoted $10 k for 4.2 and gear box off a gu that to much ? installing hard? cheers

god 37s on a 2.8 haha, poor little engine would be dying :p did you do any gearing changes? any pics of the rig? Throw her up in the members rides section.
Welcome to the forum and i'm sure there's somebody out there that has an idea on the costs and difficulties! there's always someone on this forum!
