Hi All,
as a noob around here maybe someone can tell me why petrol prices can vary by up to 10c/l during the week, but diesel prices do not?

The best price I can get for diesel in Brissy's north is $1.479 at the moment ( excluding fuel vouchers), but took a drive to Gatton today to visit family, and there the price was $1.439 !!!?? I thought it would be more expensive in small towns away from the metro's?

What's the best price for diesel in your area??

Cheers, Kurt

No reason, petrol prices are run by the biggest scammers in the word, and they can hike the price up what they like and when they like and they don't need a reason.

Get use to it Kurt its only gonna get worse

Our local servo is charging $159.9 cpl for diesel, yet another servo, 60kms away, is charging $149.9 cpl for diesel.

I rarely fill up at my local. I don't get much change out of $250 to fill up both tanks (not quite empty) at the 'discounted' price.

You pressed my button, Kurt. lol

Take care out there.

I have 5 servos close to us and prices for ULP range from 1.35 right to 1.55 between Gull, Caltex, Shell, BP and Liberty / United

The following in outer Melbourne area.
You'll find that the fuel prices are more expensive when there is more servos in close vicinity of each other.
For example I have three servos close together within 500 metres (Shell, Caltex, BP) with all pricing diesel at $1.48 but I also have a shell servo maybe 4-5k's down the road but is all by it self and diesel is $1.44.
So I rang and complained and all I could get out of them is consumer competition.

Saw LPG in Morwell today for 79.9c, first time its been below 80c in the area for about 6 months. But drive ~40km to Warragul and it is at least 15c cheaper.

yeah i dont run gas anymore. Always hilly country driving around here too. Running gas is pretty much the same price as petrol.

oh..... and at 99.8 cents a litre, apparently the gas they are pulling out of the Bass Straight (less than 100k's from my house) is going elsewhere before Tassie! But petrol has more grunt. Standard ULP is around $149.9 here.

Towoomba is consistently cheaper for petrol than Brisbane.

Pricing is a crock of the smelly stuff. :-/
