Ok guys simple question #1....

Will my RB30 stock standard carby engine push 35" tyres?
or will it kill the engine.... ???

Thankyou very much :D

I've got a mate who ran 35"s on his RB30 GQ for a few years, he sold it not long ago though.
All I can say is that it was sloooooooooooooooooooooooow

A mate (Tasfox on here) did have 35s on his RB30 carby manual BUT it had a 330 Holley kit on it. It had plenty of power. They are a tough engine, with a really strong bottom end. It would outdo two other mates in their GU 2.8 turbos and keep up with my GQ TB42 auto on 33s. Sucks the juice though. He has gone back to 33s for a bit of economy and yes he's got a bit more power now.

Can't remember at the moment...lol....there is a thread here somewhere if you have a search. Sorry I'm on my phone so cant paste a link.... RECARB do a kit.
If it's slower stuff your driving, you could also look into reduction gearing or a different ratio diff.

haha all good mate :D

Yeah i thought about reduction gears...i dont know if i should spend too much money on this car though?? i keep banging my head against a wall haha..do i keep this one and spend a bit of money on it...or do i get a gu...petrol or diesel..... seriously dont know what to do..

we plan to do the cape in about 5 years...so im defininately going to get a newer car then..probs a 4.2L Gu diesel.

Easy solution, keep this car and drive its wheels off! Learn how far it will go till you dent a panel etc then when you get a new one you'll know what it can do and be able to keep it a bit straighter lol

haha thats a fair point youve got there...should i go as far as 4"suspension lift front locker etc or just keep at 2" lift with 33 or 35s????

The holly kits are on ebay - I think from a queensland carby place.

The rework the jets etc to suit the rb30s, plus will set the carby up for gas as well

3" lift and 33's will be a good compromise and youll be able to drive plenty of places

So who has tried the Holley kit on an RB30 ?

Does it actually give power gains over a rebuilt stock carby ?
If it does, does it give power gains down low, up top, or both ?

A mate has one. I think it took a little bit of tuning but he's happy with it now. Not too sure on specifics, I'll try get him on here to tell you his opinion
