Installed new EGT blocking plate from Ferret! Cheers mate! (great service)

Took GU for a run no hassles. Went driving the day after still no hassles.
Started her up this morning and she put the engine light on. Has anyone any idea why?
No boost gauge installed. Will try power cycling this afternoon and see what she does!

Any advice?

Cheers Paul

check and clean the MAF sencore this maybe the trouble giving ecu a false reading
its no use blocking the egt without installing gauges at the same time

Do as my third said, remove the egr blocking plate and drill a hole in it.
The ecu on your crd is a lot more advanced than a did ecu and that is the prob, it is throwing a fault cause it thinks there is a fault with the egr.

Guys, what's the point of blocking plate if you need a hole in it?

Does it add any value to have it in?

Right, so i cycled the power.
Disconnected the battery and left it disconnected for a hour.
Still no change.
Removed the blocking plate.
Still no change.
Disconnected and left it over night.
Light still on this morning after connecting the battery back up.

On my way to the nissan dealer light went off.

Went down to Nissan dealer to have it checked and they hooked their computer up and it was the MAF and EGR sensors. Also found the air filter pretty dirty so replaced that.
Not keen to blocking plate back though.

Any thoughts advice, experiences?

It will 99% be a P0401 fault code generated because of the EGR block. You'll get them every now and then in the CRD's if you put a plate in. Sometimes I'll get a couple in one day then maybe a month without one.

Anyhooooow....

Best way to sort out the problem is with a Scangauge or similar. Apart from being about 30 gauges in one the Scangauge will read the codes and allow you to reset the Engine Light so you know what you are dealing with anytime you get an Engine Light.

Purchasing a SCangauge is the best money you an spend on a CRD IMHO
