I got sick and tired of the birds nest under the dash from the previous owners so I went hell for leather and ripped everything out apart from what was in there from factory. This is the only part left to put back in and I've made myself a bit confused as I have wired in 3 pole illuminated switches for spotties before but not 4 pole.
I have made up a drawing on the two 4 pole switches I have and the wiring that was connected to them when I took them out. I didn't take notice of actually where these wires went to from the switches as I it was such a mess I could recognize anything under the dash.
So, I only want to use one of the switches for now but I leave them both fitted in the dash for the time being until my funds come up again for the roof mounted spotties. :)
So I know terminals 7 and 8 are for the light in the switch but you will see how its wired up so the switch lights only come on when the switch is turned on. If I just power up 7 & 8 they light up all the time. which i don't want.
So how would I connect this to the relay so that the switch light only comes on when I activate the high beams and spotties?
Just to note the relay is wired in, I have the signal wire coming from the high beam and into the dash. Just not sure where this signal wire should go.

Thanks.

hmmmm? if your using an ARB carling switch then all of the above is incorrect and it goes like this

2 switches 3
7 & 8 are Earth
6 is the illumination circuit if you have one. 8 is the earth for that side of the switch
7 is the earth for 2 to 3 switching circuit
When i am talking about the illumination circuit i mean the dash lights circuit in your car. Not power on power off light. The reason your light comes on is that you complete the circuit with the earth to 7 & 8

On your switch it seems a little different.

I found this for you

Thanks for the info. In my pic thats how it came out of the dash. Two switches as there was two sets of spotties on the bull bar. When I activated the switch and turn on the high beams the switch would also light up.
I'll check it out tomorrow.

Thank you.

I was scouring Google last night and found this pic, this was the closest I found.

Got it all worked out. The way it was wired is correct. I knew the bottom two terminals was the switching side of it so I took a punt and it all works as it should.

Cheers.
