I want a digital, or decent inclinometer.

I can't use my iPhone as its in a in car kit.
I can't use my iPad as I use it for mapping, and its mounted in a cradle.

I have a touchscreen GPS that I use, but its not in the car all the time and I prefer the iPad so I don't often take it with me.

I would like pitch and roll, preferably digital, with a compass in it. I would ideally like the original nissan unit but I can't see them anywhere

So, does anyone know of a digital inclinometer with a compass, or where I can get a genuine Nissan one from, or alternatively, its there an app that will let me split the screen on the iPad and run my map and also a digital inclinometer, OR, is there a map program that has a inclinometer included in it??

From my experience the digital inclinometers are to sensitive and don’t give anywhere near an accurate reading in the rough stuff and even on road they seem very skittish. one that i don’t mind is called 3d compass+ it shows a satellite image of where you are and camera view also a aviation style inclinometer that can be changed to 3 or 4 other types and can also can take screen shots also. if you find any good ones let us know!

Hmm, I don't have any android gear and my GPS isn't wifi, but I might steal the wife's laptop and download it to a flash drive and see if I can install it on the GPS and use the iPad for mapping and the GPS thing just for the inclinometer

It's just a wank thing, I know I'll never use it, I just want one.

oh well nothing wrong with having a few good wanks, i never really use it as I’ve normally got “my tracks” running though my tracks can run in the background

I've found a unit in the UK for $160AUD plus shipping but there isn't a compass in it, so it's not exactly what I want.

Maybe I can get a 4 axis accelerometer from Jaycar and put it in a project box, then find a LCD and connect that to it and use the compass in my GPS.
