Not much gives me the shites. HOWEVER...being TOLD by a NISSAN parts manager that the part I need for MQ doesn't exist anymore and that I should dump it and get a later model really RIPS MY NIGHTY!!!!
I got a MQ and MK because I LOVE THEM!!
I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that. So then I call up Nissan NZ to complain and guess what..the damn person on the phone tried justifying it saying if I had a newer model I'd not be having these issues!!!
I'm going to get my beast up running, take a video/dvd of it and POST IT ON FRIGGEN YOUTUBE and SLAM their asses with it..sure it'll take me over a year due to the parts not "existing" anymore.
I will now take a step off the soapbox

I had the same problem, gave up and got a GU. But still prefer the MQ. It’s really gives me the shits. SO GO GET EM, GIVE THEM HEAPS.

what part are ya after?

I understand your frustration but hey, they cant keep making all the parts....... do they still make G60 bits? When should the cut-off be?

But no reason for the salesman to be a knob!

See your point tassy, however they should be encouraging us in reviving the ole girls..what made it worse was the parts manager was younger than the MQ lol. I understand the cut-offs dates however they are the ones that changed the models. It's easier for me to get a Model T part at this stage.
Parts I'm after are the rubbers (go figure lol), gas struts for the glass for the tailgate and the passengers side tie rod end (the one that's approx 1mtr long).
Actually, my list is rather large but finances (read "wife") dictate that the list is short LOL

Yeah you should be able to get struts fairly easy. Maybe getting an old donor vehicle would be the go?

I asked supercrap guy and he said they didn't have any, I know, have slapped the back of my head before anyone else does for actually believing that a staff member knew wtf he was talking about LOL

Nah I know what you mean, they're as useless as tits on a bull..bar the fact that I blow up my supercrap grinder every w/end and go down and get a new one each time LOL

Have thought about it nissan, however there is not much knowledge base over here to work with. I've already asked for possible GQ parts that would be able to be used on MQs and when I got offered coils gave up. Almost had a nose to nose with a Ripco guy saying that I've got not clue and that ALL patrols have coils. Was only after I got out the greased earmarked Haynes that he told me that it was his lunch break LOL

I had the same problem with the wifes 93 model 323, needed a new horn assembly but mazda dont do parts for them anymore either, ended up putting in a complete aftermarket steering kit instead. Had similar issues with me 78 escort pv years agoo, took months trying to get a part and had to end up getting from the uk
