Hey fellas,
More so for all you older folk i spose ???
Who has or knows anything about these prehistoric rigs ???
My neighbour has kindly donated me his ol landy ute, comes with the fire breathing 186
I dont have a clue what to do with it, if its worth anything, are they worth stuffing around with, parts prices stuff like that
Playing with ol holden motors , thats the easy bit, but the rest
Should i go for the challenge, or say "No thanks" ???

Just park it up somewhere in Melbourne, or Fortitude Valley, someone might be stupid enough to steal it!!lol
Cheers, the ferret.

check for rust in the firewall, support panel and chassis - all the bits that are steel.
Get used to driving with the handbrake somewhere uncomfortable, and have a ball. The 186 was a popular conversion - less likely to break axles than the mighty 202!
Be a fun old bus to tootle about in - a lot of character! Sadly, where character abounds, comfort is less common

first 4wd I ever drove
depending on how bad of condition it is really - chassis and bulkhead are the main ones to look out for, with the bulkhead you can practice your welding skills on repairing it
the body as everyone knows is Alloy, so rust isnt the issue there most times
they are a fun thing to play with, not fast or comfortable but they are a "mechano set" type of setup so you just have to unbolt it and repair / replace what ever is wrong
they are good fun to play with
