We own a 4.8 Patrol, 2005 model, auto. The problem we are having is that it won't start when temperature is under 5 degrees. We had the computer downloaded at a Nissan dealer and we were told it was the inhibitor relay sensor which we had replaced however the problem still exists. Further problems are now showing up which all seem to be related to the cold weather. The engine is derating and sometimes locks transmission to second gear with the engine fault light showing. After another computer download we were advised to replace the throttle sensor body however this hasn't fixed the problem. I've checked the grounds and all ok there.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Jack,

When you get a chance go over to the intro section and post up an introduction.

With the starting problem what is it doing when it plays up? does the engine wind over but not fire? if so, does it seem like the engine is cranking fast enough?

or does the engine not even wind over?.

Did they replace the inhibitor switch or the relay?

Do you know what trouble codes were logged?

Cheers Rodney
