Hi all.
My glows only stay on for maybe 2 seconds on a cold start.I usually have to turn the key on and off before it will start easy.
Is there some way of sorting this out,or is my glow timer stuffed?
Thanks guys

Short answer, no! Battery should have the electrolytes checked, and be load tested for voltage held. It is normal for glow plugs to need a bit more warming during cold months. Glow timers only heat for a set time worked on expected average morning temp.
If it was full manual glow you would just hold the key at glow few a few extra seconds. Low battery can also show up a weakness during colder months, which will also lessen the available charge to heat the glow plugs.

The glow plugs can draw a large amount of Amps. If your battery is low, you may see the warning lights on your dash significantly dim when the glow-plugs are ON.
From memory, the Glow Control Unit take a temp reading from the engine to calculate the ON duration required for the glow-plugs. Maybe the temp sender or the 'Glow Control Unit' is faulty. I have setup a manual button on mine, works very well.

I am pretty sure you can just tap a switched earth into the green wire with a white trace at the glow controller.
I just removed my rd28 glow controller altogether and wired up a momentary switch to earth and the other side to the green wire white trace.
Then i used a diode between that and yellow wire green trace and tapped it into the green wire white trace for the glow light in the dash with the black line on the diode on the green wire white trace side.
The diode stopped the glow light in the dash staying on with accessories for some reason the gq relays give earth feedback wich is a pain.
