Every couple of years, my Family gets together over Easter and does a bit of camping. My Father's side of the Family were raised in the middle of the Flinders Ranges, between Blinman and Arkaroola, and a lot of the land there is still owned by my family.
This particular trip was back in 2006 and I thought I'd share some of the country with you all.
Traditionally, my family are also Toyota fans, though the lead car was in fact the might Patrol.

On this particular trip, as I did not have my own 4x4, I borrowed my Uncle's shooting bus which despite it roughness, was the only vehicle that didn't get stuck the entire trip... though it did have its own dramas...

About half way through day one, and at the first minor obstacle, we managed to break a number of the leafs on the old Hilux.

We limped on til we got to our lunch stop, which is affectionately known as 'Bullocks Head'. The old tin house there is one that my Father grew up in as a child and a lot of the old family vehicles are still scattered about the place.
This proved to be handy, as we lifted up an old Ford Zephyr to "borrow" one of its leaf springs to assist the Hilux for the remainder of the trip. It wasn't an exact fit, but we managed to fix it in place along side the broken Hilux leafs and whilst it was very soft for the remainder of the trip, it did the job.
Excuse the lack of OHS...

About 2 months prior to this trip, my Grandfather passed away, so it especially nice touring this bit of country and hearing my Father share his memories of him. Found the cab of my Grandfather's first truck too

These few shots were our last stop for the trip. It's the ruins of Artimore Homestead. My Great Grandmother spent a few years here as a child.

And last, but not least, is a panorama of Artimore. Due to its size, I'll link it instead. The remains of the woolshed are on the right, with the rest of the homestead off in the distance.
