Hello all,

My first post since joining the forum, hope I am in the right place. Couple weeks ago I bought a SD33 n/a with transmission and transfer. I was thinking of using it in my old Series Land Rover, but it is too long. So I will look for a older Patrol with a bad engine.

The motor is missing the throttle cables and I am not sure where all the vacum hoses are connected.

I bought a Gregory's MQ Patrol manual, which is pretty good, but does not explain the injector pump operation, purpose of the throttle body or have a fotos showing the connection of hoses and cables.

Can anyone recommend a manual to covers the fuel system operation in detail. I have seen several "Factory Service Manuals" for the SD33, which one is the best.

I will add that I am in Panama, Central America, might make a difference in vehicle configuration.

Any photos of the injector pump showing the cable connections, cable brackets?

This is a photos of my injector pump, I believe there are some parts missing!!

Thank you

Mike

Panama, you will be able to access the manuals here for MQ and MK Patrols which will have sd33 motors in them.

You just need to get up 25 post first though. And that is easy by saying Hi to new members and joining in on other threads. Just be geniune in posting and you'll be at 25 posts before you know it.

Thank you for the reply Tim.

You are right about making more posts, but this is my first Nissan motor and I don't know enough to be much help.

I have found several manuals, one shows the disasembly of the injector pump, but nothing about the cable for the butterfly.

Thanks again, I will keep looking.

Tim,

I am building a base for the engine, so I can try to start it. I want to be certain I know how to shut it off.

There is one control lever on the injection pump, it was connected to a electric control unit. I tested the control unit as per the Gregory's manual and the control unit is inop. Not a problem, I think I can fabricate a cable bracket and operate the engine shut-down by cable.

Also, the pneumatic governor hoses, the hose from the banjo fitting on the rear side of the pump is going to the venturi(sp) at the butterfly valve. There is another hose from a nipple on top rear of the injection pump, where is it connected? I assume the air cleaner to keep dirt out.

The photos in the Gregory's manual are mostly of the turbo model pump which is different.

Hope this makes a little sense. What would be the postage on your manual to Panama?

But, I seen this in the "For sale" ads this morning, sent an email with some questions, seems a lot of money for a 25 year old truck. Really want a SWB model, but this one looks pretty good in the fotos.

I will answer your questions tomorrow night.
That MK wagon looks good. Those Kms are low especially with rebuilt engine. The alloy wheels look nice too.
