Hey everyone i have a 98 gq ute td42 its done 210000km iv owned it for 12 months iv turbod it and stuff done about 50000km since iv had it. its always had a issue when cold it will start up run perfect wont miss no matter how cold it is but when u go to take off it starts spluttering and blowing smoke around 1300rpm until i giv it a boot full and then its fine even when i idle around the bush and it cools down it starts to miss again until it worms up again iv tryd everything i can think of new injectors and pump what is moded for the turbo glow plugs air leeks in fuel lines valve clearnces checked fuel tank for rubbish compression is fine. so any ideas would be great im pulling my hair out.:blowup:

Have you checked the gauze filter on the inlet to injector pump?

Glow system? Could be a touch faulty this will cause it to kinda miss when cold they have a little controller in them that when need cycles the glow plugs to keep incoming air warm to help with ignition when cold.

Check the operation of the Thermstat.If it is jammed open it will allow the engine to overcool then if you have a problem with the glow plug temp sensor as nissanewby said it can be a paininthe ass.

Thanks for the reply guys have orded a bogard glow controler what replaces all the nissan stuff and is controlble fingers crosst it does the trick. will let uz no if it works
