another gauge question...

the aftermarket water temp gauge sensor is huge compared to the pissy lil factory sensor and wont fit in the hole, do i : -

1: drill out the original hole with a thread bit and fit in there or...
2 : drill a completely new hole and run dash gauge aswel?

if the second option wheres the best place to drill it in??

cheers

Or 3: Cut into the top hose and add an adaptor for the new temp sensor and run it from there ;)

Where would I get an adapter from? Or would I have to modify sumtin to suit?

Super Cheap, Repco, Bursons, AutoPro. Pretty well any Auto Shop will have it mate.

I think he has a mechanical gauge though, not an electrical one. If it has the long probe it may not work. I agree it's far easier to slip a sensor into the top hose also. Most 'good' auto parts stores have them (SC isn't one of them, they're lucky to know what a temp gauge is) but you might have to replace the gauge as well.

ive got a mechanical one fitted to mine and it just penetrates in closer to the middle of the hose but still has plenty of room. and you dont have to worry about earthing them
