Hey there i hope this is the intro post . my name is ash im a plasterer im into fishing .i drag race a nitrous fed 2005 xr8 manual ute and i have owned patrols for approx 12years .my gq had done 300,000 ks i replaced the turbo,head gasket and clutch .Great 4wd . i own a 2001 3.0 gu that broke pistons 2 days after i bought it . at 90000ks fixed by car yards doggie mechanic and now at 180000ks it is blowing oil out the exhaust and rocker cover .

Welcome Ash . No good to read about your ( issues ) with your GU . top right side of screen is a search bar , type in grenade / nads / 3.0l mods / zd30 engine problems . you will find many posts about how to go about fixing future detonation if you decide to rebuild . goodluck .
