cheers my third your a legend mate
do you just plug in what has to go into ecu for the pedal sensor & the one back from the diesel pump straight into where they are on the ecu
in other words do you have to remove what is allready there or put in same line and leave what is there

mine being a common rail all you do is take plug off the back of the rail
the plug taken off goes to one side of the box the other goes to where you took the plug from the rail
try this link http://www.no-limit-tuning.com/tuning_example.php
i only know about the commonrail motors not the older ones
the chips on ebay are only for common rails

It is a bit of a worry when people make claims about how good their car goes after doing this or adjusting that etc. I'm sure people talk themselves into thinking that all is better after a bit of tinkering. A point to note is that many people who have put chips or after market exhausts on their vehicles say that the car now does less RPMs at a certain speed. Can someone PLEASE explain to me how this is possible??!! When they say this it immediately blows their credibility. When I installed my chip and exhaust I had before and after dyno results. No guess work or black magic. Just beware of claims some people make.

No worries. Mine is a Steinbaur with a 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust. We fiddled about on the dyno to get what I wanted (torque for towing) and the end result was a 30% increase in torque and a 20% increase in power. I have taken some before and after fuel usage records and driving around town there is no noticeable change but I do get 1km/l incease in economy both while driving on the highway and while towing.
So overall the mods were worth the money and effort.
Take yours to a workshop with a dyno and do a real before and after comparison.

My 2c about No limit Tuning. I fitted one to my Dmax I have. In my opinion their warranty is not worth the dunny paper they write it on. My chip arrived. I fitted it, took a whole five minutes, I couldn't get the car to idle at all. After hours of mucking around they told me to send it back to them. I did that, it got to their post office in Germany ( I know this as I actually rang their post office in Germany) but they failed to pick the item up. Even though i contacted No Limit Tuning and told them my dud chip is there. Four months later the dud item returns on my door step with a note from their post office saying no one picked up the item. Luckily for me I managed to score another chip of the same brand, from another Ebay user for $50. Fitted it and it worked perfect. Took my car for a dyno, and there was very little difference in power using this chip.
Although it's tempting for me to buy another chip for my GU, I think I will give these guys a miss. As once I had paid for the item their email response were very very vague to say the least. So I hate to see what they would do if you blow your engine up and find out it was their chip that caused it.
I know everyone thinks we get ripped by our local chips, we probably do, but atleast they are in the same country if anything decided to turn to shit.
As I said, my 2c about No Limit Tuning.

I think its the chipit chip but it allows you to have an egt control function on it so you are less likely to melt pistons etc when you have issues, this might be worth a look in. As for your oil being black its a diesel thats how its meant to be diesel oils are different to petrol oils in that they have detergents and cleaners to help keep the engine clean cos diesel i suppose you could say isnt as clean a fuel as petrol. A more expensive oil will be no different as long as the oil meets the specs that your manual states then that is all thats required.
