I have a TB42 efi and I had issues with the overflow pressurizing and a tiny hole in the radiator and have since used chemweld to fix until the budget allows to sort it properly.

Now my problem is this, the smell in the cab is bad (pretty sure its coolant) and from the exhaust but there is no coolant being used and the overflow is stable???

I have checked to see if there is like a small coolant drip some where that would explain the smell in the cab but cant find any and then there is the smell from the exhaust?? Now when its on Petrol I dont think I smell it from the exhaust (not 100% sure on this) but only on gas???

It is steadily getting worse to the point where I have a crap taste in my mouth, cant afford the work needed to do the head just yet so hoping that is not the only cure for this problem.

Any advice is much appreciated.............

I'd say either your heater core is leaking or a hose leading to heater core

I was leaning towards something like that but never had experience with heater cores??????

I think I may have found the smell for the inside of the car maybe a leaking washer bottle... I use a little bit of metho in there and smell mixed with water is really close to that of coolant.

The rear motor does not work so while in there I will replace that and see about sorting out the leak.

I filled the bottle the other day and have not used it but noticed the level was down.

See if that side of things is sorted then look to the other later.

The washer bottle water gets really warm by the way???

Old school metho trick. haven't heard that one for a very long time.
I'm getting old me think. lol.
You may find the metho is the cause of leak drying out seals around or in washer pump.

Well yes it turns out it was the wiper water bottle...... it was driving me mad but after 3 days now the smell has gone and the new motors have arrived so will fit them today.

It's funny how you convince yourself that it could be something and then it turns out to be something completely differant .
