I modded this up to allow carrying 1 ton loads continuously over rough tracks, putting lick block out for cattle.

But she keeps throwing the odd one (usually passenger side) which involves much work in tray off, jacking up (where it is now) and reseating. Any tips for holding them in?

Drop out Cones welded into the top Spring cap will sort that out no trouble..

Suspension Stuff have them for $90 here (http://www.suspensionstuff.com.au/shop/product_info.php?products_id=638)

Spring retainer in the base of the spring which hold them in their Seat

Superiors have them here (http://www.superiorengineering.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=31_32_34_194&products_id=4066) and the Drop out cones here (http://www.superiorengineering.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=31_32_34_194&products_id=847)

While you have the tray off next time i would highly recommend one of these (http://www.superiorengineering.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=31_32_34_190&products_id=5949)

No Worries mate, teh lst item i posted is the Spring Tower Brace kit and for $120 it is Well Worth the cash. In a Coil cab that is heavily loaded often and on hard ground the spring caps tend to tear and break away and this can be a very very bad thing. If you are loaded up and on hard stuff all the time then i highly recommend this mod.

There are plenty of blokes that have had to re-weld the spring cap half way across the Simpson or the Madigan or the Anne Bidel. For your situation i'd consider it mandatory.

That brace is very simple to fit to a Ute and can be fitted to a GQ as long as it has a body lift which is common. To fit it to a GU Wagon will require a Body Lift too and this is Not common at all so not an option.

If you have the option install it before you need it ;)
