Try in neutral and vehicle stationary

Thanks, but no, doesn't work. Not even chug in reverse and try works, it just wont select. Means a lot of faster than I would like driving in wet season to maintain momentum, have got used to not using it during ewet, just thought someone might know while it is jacked up and easy to get at.
Cheers

Yeah, it is like there is no gateway - nothing.

Have you got the clutch in?

Try and double clutch on the change down, also i think you need to push down slightly too

stop brake on clutch in move transfercase lever from 2H to 4H then push lever down like you can on a videogame controller then pull it back to 4L it that doesn't work linkages and selector may be broken or let us know where you live and someone close can have a look at it

Do you have a body lift?

Body lift? Is that like a bra?

the body is lifted from the chassis which can make the gear selector now go in the gate

AS said in a previous post, the lever is spring loaded in neutral and should push approx. 25mm down before pulling
it back into 4wd low.
If it won't push down, the gate mechanism on the side of the box may be damaged or seized.
The whole operation of shifting from 2WH to4WL should be quite smooth and easy to do.
If the gate is free, the trouble could be with the selectors in the transfer case.

Hope you get it sorted without too much cost involved.

Take the shift lock (gateway) out and then try it, common thing to happen as it wears. if not time to strip the transfer case.
