Can anyone tell me where the lift pump is located for a 4.2 Y61?
Thanks

Unless you installed one, it isn't there.

Thats a lift pump on top of the filter yeah?

sorry for the hijack but, can you overcome a maxed out pump by adding a elec lift pump etc? is there any real benefit?

As stated there is no electric lift pump down the tank end of the system, unless installed aftermarket. Can help if your Ip is getting close to max efficiency or even just to take a bit of the work load of it.

i had to install one on my GQ ute (320 00km). The internal suction pump was not keeping up. I checked everything, new filters, new fuel line and got the injector pump seals done and it still didn't do anything. The last resort was to put the electric pump on it. After the pump went on i had the fuel starve problem once more a few weeks later but after i changed the oil that same day never had it ever again.

I was driving my new gq the other day towing a trailer up the kuranda range and it started to starve for fuel. I hope that its the same problem and not something else. I reckon they all need a booster pump cause its a long way to suck fuel and through a filter too.

Sounds like what happend to me. Check your injector pump there is a small plated on the side of it that can come lose and create the same issue
