Hi folks.
I have been told that the LSD in my rear diff is shot. "Plates are gone"! [I have seen a sample of the material collected by the rear diff's plug magnet - and there is a bit of metal attached that is the size of an old 1 cent piece (but not of that thickness).]

I am looking to source the core part of a rear diff centre (minus gears) and swap my crown wheel onto that part; and refit.

I am looking at buying a pair of diffs (front & rear) that came out of a "1998 gu petrol, factory gas, 5 speed manual" as the result of a locker installation. I have attached an image of the diffs. FYI.

I have looked on Redbook; and it seems '98 petrols were 4.5 litres:

YNOT's input to the following thread suggests that 4.5 manual petrols came with a 266mm diff:
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?2897-GU-diff-centres-into-GQ&highlight=diff+ratios
"The only GU's to get the big (H260b) rear diff were the manual 3.0 diesel, manual 4.5 petrol and manual 4.8 petrol..."

So, will someone pls confirm that that 4.5 manual petrol diff CANNOT be swapped with my ZD30 auto's 233mm?

Thanks in anticipation.
