Hi my name is robert seems every one around me is has a 4x4 except me but due to an injury some years ago i havent been able to work , and with the payments having been cut off recently well money is as tight as but recently i managed to find a 1988 ford maverick for 1500 bucks , needs a bit of work but mainly putting it back together suspension wise and working out whats missing .
so far from what i can see its not to bad radiator hoses , expansion tank is knackered r/hand tail light ,r/hand front window r/hand rear window regulator ,bullbar and sway bar front and back .
drive train was untouched although they did pinch the snorkle and the driver side door skin but in the back was a complete front diff two sets of brake calipers with new pads and a 20 horse mercury outboard that goes .
oh i forgot the gas tanks been taken off but all the gas stuff under bonnet is brand new .
so i thought bargain for someone with no money and most of these parts from what i can see are cheap enough $100 for a gas tank in date at the wreckers i just have to go through the mound and find one the right size shape etc .

i had a question for you guys what should the compression be on a 4.2 petrol maverick/nissan motor .

thanks for your replys

robert the new newbie

ps have i done ok i should i burn it

Welcome to the forum mate, sounds good to me!!!

Good luck with it mate and ask any questions along the way. You might have to put up any questions under a different section than the introduction as a lot of people don't read the intro section.

Welcome mate, plenty to read and find out here.

25 posts will give you access to a full 1300page Factory manual for your car and something you will likely need mate.

Also there is a thread floating around today about snorkels for a GQ, TigerzII have brand new ones on their site for $75! Hell cheap as bud. go get one, you'd pay more than that from a wreckers for a second handy.

Have fun and welcome.
