Thanks MudRunnerTD, Will do with the pics. It's been a bit of a process but it will be worth it in the end...it better be or my missus will have me out with the dogs.
We have 2 weekend trips in the next month so I have to get as much gear back onto this new one as quickly as possible. Looks like a few late nights for me out in the shed with the patrol and the cane toads!
Cheers

offroadmafia, thanks. I hope we will be happy, the one we still have, but soon won't have has been great. It has taken us as a family (wife, daughter and I) on quite a number of trips with the camper trailer in tow and given us a lot of memories. It has never broken down or caused us to delay or cancel a holiday, yeah it hasn't been the most comfortable vehicle to drive around town but fully loaded and outback is where it likes to be and offroad it is in it's element, it certainly isn't the most fuel efficient or the one with the most power but it has taken us to a lot of great places trouble free and comfortably. Unfortunately the daughter won't be coming on too many more outback trips as we have other trips planned for the next couple of years (which she is over the moon about), so this vehicle is primarily being setup for 2 over the next couple of years, with a few smaller trips thrown in and then hopefully a couple of bigger trips in 2014/15.
Cheers

Gavin, thanks mate. Yeah I have a few late nights ahead putting all my stuff back on and in and a few bruised knuckles and such, but it will be worth it in the end.
Thanks for the offer of tips, if I go down this path I will need some thats for sure. I have done quite a bit of mig welding on steel but never on ally so there will be a bit of shitty welding in the beginning.
Cheers

Well I finally got around to taking some pics over the weekend.
Sorry about not having some up a week ago but I have been flatout working on it since I got it. It has been in and had the old tough dog susp kit put in as well as the front air locker, windows got tinted last friday.
I reinstalled the charging wires and redarc for the camper as well as (but I will have to tidy up some of the wiring for this). The triple battery system is back in although with a new agm battery under the bonnet (old one was reading 8V after only being out of the vehicle for a month) and the redarc for this had to be mounted in a different spot as there are pipes no running where it was before in the old one.
12 fuse powerboard under the drivers kick panel wired directly to battery in rear drawers (this only has the two-way, front locker compressor and electric brake control unit on it at the moment)
Rear drawers installed, two way and new aerial are in and on. I even kept my old spotties :) so now I will look at an hid upgrade of these instead of new lights.
Cheers

Maaaaate, that is very shmick!!!
I'm sure you will love modding it just the way you want it.........have fun!
You planning on putting a catch can in??? Mine's got bugger all room as they've put the battery isolator and winch swich in the spot where I was planning to put the can in. Now the tricky part of finding another spot..Pretty tight in there,
Is that a home made second battery tray/clamp???

Nisshead, (Nisspat did you have a name change?). Starting modding it the morning after it turned up. The taipan intercooler pipe and T/D rtc steering damper got swapped over, the spotties I kept (although I would have liked to get some lightforce ones but these were way cheaper). There was some late nights last week getting things put into this patrol with plenty of cuts and bruises from running cables and trying to cable tie them in the right spots but it was worth it. I have the winch to install this week with a safari snorkel going on next week. I will be changing the rear drawers around a little and putting the battery that is now under the bonnet in there beside the other battery, I also have a redarc bcdc20 to mount in there somewhere to help charge these batteries more efficiently and hopefully this little unit will stand the test of time but I will still keep the old sbi12 as it has been great and will make a great spare if the other one dies.
I do have a catch can, it was bought for the last one but there was no room to fit it so it was packed away, but I got it out of hibernation and tried to see where I could fit it under the bonnet of this one but thought it won't fit as the aux battery is where I want to mount it but as I am thinking of putting that battery in the back then a huge space has opened up.
The battery tray and clamp are piranha offroad parts that I removed from the old one as well. It is still in great shape with no signs of rust or corrosion of any sort and nearly all the holes lined up perfectly with the new patrol although I did have to remove the small bracket that goes from the tray up to the overflow bottle off as there is now a small canister in the way, I actually bent this bracket to make it fit but the rubber water hose that comes from the overflow bottle got squashed. These trays are not cheap but they are bloody strong as I have had a 30+ kilo fullriver agm hanging off it for 5 years.
Cheers

Thanks guys, this working 5 days a week thing certainly takes the time away from the patrol thats for sure. Ah well I'll take it while I can get it anyway, the patrol will just take a little longer to get where I want it to be. Will try to get more pics this weekend.
