Welcome 2 the forum Nathan

Buy the sound of it you should of bought a GQ instead of the GU, sounds like it the GU if giving you grief.

My only advise is 2 trade it in for a real Nissan.....like a GQ.............hahahahahaha

Enjoy the forum mate, we a friendly here and will do our best 2 help out with any questions.

Cheers

Hi my name is Dave.

I am a mechanic and did my apprenticeship at a Nissan i am a big fan of the patrol for it's build quality and it's off-road capabilities i have a SWB GQ and an in the process of purchasing my first GU 2002 4.8 st manual.
plan on doing a bit of touring in this one as i have all the serious off-roading out of my system from the shorty.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

The GU is going well, just a few minor things that Nissan being silly about. Main one was the the spare wheel was not put on properly by Nissan pre-delivery in Melbourne. At 26000 km I had a flat (screw straight into tread). When I took the spare off for the first time, I found a ring of paint missing on back door rubbed off by incorrectly fitted spare. Nissan refused to honour warranty claim. Luckily I had insurance claim to repaint the back door and replace lock as thieves attempted to bust rear door lock to get in (also made major scratch on back door with the implement they used to attempt to get in). Other issue is buttons are falling off the radio. The OEM tyres are crap, but other than that, I am really happy with the car.:icon_driving: Had some great trips to Moreton and North Stradbroke Islands. :icon_victory:

Cheers
Nathan
