GQ trayback transfer case oil

Hi everyone, Just a quick question. I have just bought a 1997 GQ trayback and bought oil for everything and when I dropped the transfer case oil it seamed to be ATF???? Is this right as the neighbor said thats what they take but the Caltex dealer gave me 75W90. Which is right?

I used to work at a Nissan dealership and we always put dex3 in the transfers.
