Hi,

Pursuant to my earlier postings on the erratic idle I was experiencing when running the motor on LPG, I have tried several of the suggestions provided.
One of the options being to spray some WD40 spray around the vacuum pipes (One of the online mates thought that the problem could be a vacuum leak). I have done this and have noted that the erratic idle goes away for a short while.
Hence I am of the conclusion that it may be one of the vacuum pipes or the actual pipe (with several joints) that flows from the air filter to the motor.
I aim to strip and replace these pipes over the weekend. Hopefully this will solve my problem.
The question now is where do I purchase these pipes from? Any advise on this is sincerely appreciated.
I do reside in Forest Lake.
Although I believe that the above may solve my problem I have attached a photo to which I herein refer. Can anyone please tell me what the marked up black box with the white arrow is (and what its purpose is). One thing I did notice is that this box gets hot and has a sort of a whirr noise emanating from it. . Is this normal?

Secondly there are solenoids (attached to the LPG Gas pipe and some flow contraption. (I assume this is for a off/on valve. The thing sis that the solenoid makes a loud clicking noise when I turn on the gas (button is on dash). Also the solenoid gets rather hot. Once again is this normal?
So in summary:
1. Where do I purchase the vacuum pipes from, given that I reside in Forest Lake?
2. Please tell me what the marked up black box with the white arrow is (and what is its purpose).
3. Is this normal. for the box referred to above to make a whirr noise and also get hot?
4. Is it normal for the solenoid to make a loud clicking noise when engaged and once engaged to get hot during operation?
Many thanks

Regards

AG

Hi mate, I haven't a clue what that box is sorry. I have gas on my gq and it doesn't have the big black box. As fir the leaking pipes, have you tried tightening all the connections and joins? My gas was playing up, turned out it was an air leak somewhere between the solenoid and the carby. I just tightened all the hose clamps and the problem was fixed.
Hopefully someone comes along with a bit more advice.
Goodluck.
