It depends wat power u want and if u want your truck to be nippy or have a bigger charge the to4 turbo is good size for a nippy and depends how much u want to spend but put a front mount inter cooler on for sure and wing fuel into it and add a electric pump near your tank do it dosent lean out when in boost I have 270 rwhp in my shorty so shows wat u can get
Cheers rowy

all these mods you guys have done, are they on the silver or black top motors, just asking as hav read that the black top internals are not the same, is this correct, can the pistons handle the xtra heat etc on the black top motors, also the xtra strain on bearings etc, also does it reduce motor life & reliability, cheers bazz

theres massive debates on silver or black top and i have mates with both and they all have turbos, none of them have failed them yet and its been a few years. definitely turbo intercooled 3 inch exhaust, and youll get a good note like this before u put ur exhaust on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bugG5qcAAZE

Hey mate iv had a few patrols and tryd allot of engine mods trying to get the most out of the old girls im driveing a 98 gq ute at the moment its got 187kw at the wheels on 35s its still got stock internals iv had the pump moded with 14ml plungers and high pressure injectors to match with a costum garrett roller ball bearing turbo with a front mount cooler what runs into a top mount cooler what pwr built for me i did the pipe work my self diff gears to spin 35s back to standard i did all the labour myself accept for the pump build all up cost me about 6500. if you want big power it comes with a price tag but worth evry cent i recon nothing better than turbo whistle and black smoke:) Iv done black top motors and silver top ones running up to 30psi and never had one blow yet. cheers

Why did you need high pressure injectors?
I run standard injectors set to 115bar and they are good for 194rwkw @2920rpm and 690nm @ 2140rpm.
