roof racks

I am planning on getting some roof racks, I was wondering what would be better a cage / basket or one of those pod looking things that are fully enclosed. Thks for your help.

depends on what you want to carry full cage can carry some decent weight(i can walk on mine easily) though it’s annoying to take off so i don’t the pods are limiting your packing space upside you can throw in soft bags and not worry about them getting wet its honestly personal preference.
fuel would be an issue also again it depends what you plan on carrying.

Might be an idea to post up what you intend doing and ask what others recommend for the given task and why.
