15102151031510415105Howdy Troll gurus see the photos attached and can anyone tell me where this hose is meant to go? It starts at the vacuum off the back of the alternator travels along the fire wall into what I think is a vacuum fail sender (located under the windscreen wiper motor and above the brake booster) it comes out the other side and is tied to the throttle cable, then ???? It's not connected to anything. I've asked mud runner but his is a mav and doesn't look the same so I need a GQ owner please. It's a 1990 GQ td42 na cheers

Your attachments work here mate, Crappy way to list them though sorry Mr Moderator ;)

Hmmm looks like some kind of Pressure relief valve mate??? If it was say an Over Pressure safety solenoid then that may just be the purge hose and of no consequence. I definitely DO NOT have one of those on my car mate.

Trying foters agin this time with some more effort ;-)

This is where it comes off the Vacuum on the back of the alternator (the skinny one)

This is where it enters i think is a switch called vaccum fail indicator (gregorys manual)
http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z428/GrowlersGQ/vacuumline005.jpg
This is the other side where it comes out
http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z428/GrowlersGQ/vacuumline002.jpg
So far this is exactly the same as the crappy pics in the gregorys manual attached to the throttle cable, but the manual doesnt show where from here as my photo

Their is one that goes to the fuel pump on a vacuum solenoid to up the idle for the aircon when it's turned on it increases the rpm.

Damn camera went flat
But it is white round and about 2 inches in diameter with an arm coming out

Clean lol you should have seen it last weekend it just looked like mud.
pressure washer does wonders and i need to find a cleaner that gets mud off tried a 3 in 1 degreaser in a spray can but it is pretty corrosive stuff.

If it is indeed a fail sensor then the hose probably doesn't go anywhere special and will be the atmospheric sense line IE one side is atmosphere reference and the other vacuum source.

The maverick ute i have here doesn't have one at all it is capped off on the pump .
The fuel pump doesn't have the bit on it either.

You can see where it is circled it is off centered a bit where it connects

As 97_gq_lwb says, the device on the firwall is for the Air Conditioning idle up. It is just a solenoid operated switch for vacuum.
Do you have a cylinder attached to your injector pump throttle linkage?
Not all Patrols / Mavericks had the system fitted, but if you don't have the part on the injector pump, then maybe the injector pump has been replaced at some stage.

There is a vacuum fail switch that can be fitted (not fitted to Aus spec vehicles), which would use the other small hose you have tied up on the vacuum pump. The switch is located on the guard or chassis near the vacuum pump. On loss of vacuum, it switches the brake warning lamp.
