Gday, I am sick of my under powered 3l and am thinking of putting a gen111 v8 motor in, can anyone tell me what type of fuel figures they get and does a exhaust upgrade help the 3l at all. I have spent $11000 on a new motor and dont like the idea of spending any more on it.
Thanks craig

G'day mate, hed over tot he intro section and post an intro if you could, A little about you and your rig will go a long way mate. ;)
you will probably get around 16 to 18lt/100 out of the GenIII. The problem i see though bud is you have already spent the $11,000 on a new ZD30! Damn!
Have a look around mate there is a fair bit written about the 3lt and you will pick up quite a bit with a search here.

Hi craigv
I have 3.0l Auto with chip and exhaust upgrade. tows 2 ton ski boat up and down the coast like a dream. can maintain 70kmh up the big hills without going over 3,000rpm. Would go faster and rev harder if need but see no need to over stress engine to save 5min on trip. If you want to maintain 100kmh up the hills then theV8 is for you.
If you would like exact info on chip and exhaust on mine let me know and i will dig ouy invoice.
Sorry in advance for slow reply as new to site and still finding my way around.

Thanks Jimmy, Did you put the chip & exhaust in at the same time because Ive spent enough on the new engine and would only put the exhaust in,and if you know does just the exhaust on its own give you more power and better mileage.

Yes $11,000 was the best option here in sa because every thing seems to be to hard for everyone, They just seem to want to make the quick buck, but im preparing for when this engine goes.Ive had it converted to a duel cab and its got everything else on it so I think Ill have to keep it for a while.
