Hello all,
I have a 2004 4.2 GU Wagon that i have owned since new, with only 115,000 clicks on it and in great condition, only mods are Dual Batteries, Light Force spotties, Cargo Barrier & rear draws and a 2way radio and a ARB roof rack , hardly any off road work, mainly used to tow the ski boat over the summer months,

Any opinions on selling this and buying a 200 series,

Cheers,

Tonks.

Keep it. they are a good thing trouble free motoring and servicing when looked after well. 200 are expensive in every aspect as they are relatively new plus getting stuck out in the bush with an electronis failure is no fun. GO THE LEGENDARY 4.2. (these are only opinions do what you like:p Ill buy the patrol off you for 25k :p kidding :p )

keep it, there have been massive issues engine wise. a lot of mines are getting rid of their V8 toyota fleet including the hiluxes and trying to buy all the 2nd cruisers / patrols etc due to many failures with the V8 tojo's

KEEP IT. I'm getting rid of my 5 year newer X5 now and that's a car that's WAY over rated along with the LC's ..
Each new upgrade to the Patrol makes it so much more a 'keeper' !

If you want a grunty tow rig and more comfort go the 200. I've worked on a couple they aren't as bad as what people say they are. The early ZD30 is 10 times worse. The 2012 models have a new revised motor too.
Brand new one I've just partly kitted out is out there now with an off road caravan in tow so when they return for the rest of kit I'll get a good report on how it went.
He left his GU with me for some much needed TLC and upgrades while he's away but he'll always use his Patrol for the rougher and remote stuff.
You'll have no problem selling the legendary TD42 GU.

Cheers, Dave
