Which gas do I have?

G'day
,
can anyone tell me which gas I'm likely to have in my A/C?
My son helped me with a little repair, now I need to get the A/C repaired, and regassed.
I have a 92 GQ with a 4.2 diesel
I have a low and high line with quick connect fittings and a blue and a red cap on each, not Schraeder valves.
PLEASE tell me what I want to hear, and not what I THINK I might hear:)

1992 would most likely have been R12 unless retrofitted due to a leak after 1996. The blue cap is the suction side and red is the high side.
If you say there quick couples like say an air line its been retroffited with R134a

yeah a lot of cars will most like be running the r134a these days. I think you are not allowed to use r12 anymore which is ashame i reckon it does a better job

I'll have to get a flaring tool and fix the pipe to the receiver /dryer. I wonder how much one of those is. Any guess'? Anyone had a regas recently, and what did it cost ya?

I'll have to get a flaring tool and fix the pipe to the receiver /dryer. I wonder how much one of those is. Any guess'?Flare tools arent to badly priced nowadays however if your removing the pipe off the reciever/dryer its good practice to replace these once you have opened the system.

Took it in to a local mob today . Replace gas, replace dryer ,weld up or replace with rubber hose. Quoted $450. Insert picture of sad face here. Guess I'll get the window relay next year .........

Some people get ripped bad with aircon regas i get mine done between $60-$80
Reciever dryers are like $25

If you ever need anything this place had great prices on pumps etc they put a fitting on for me when i did my engine conversion.
