96 4.2 EFI 30 Anniversary Patrol, cuts out.

Had the Nissan since 18 months old (Patrol not me)and only recently had to change the water pump and thermostat.
But for a long time now the engine cuts out when I decelerate, if you leave the foot off the motor doesn't run, the moment you touch the accelerator again the motor kicks in. Does not happen all the time, it can run for weeks without this occurring. Sometimes it is set off after going over a decent bump. Mechanic looked at the problem when I lived out west but couldn't find anything wrong? Anyone had this problem or knows a solution?

I had a similar issue with mine and found it was an earth off the start battery. Found the earth bolt had loosened and was arcing out on the threads which in time wore out. Have done a temporary fix (fit nut to thread under guard and done up super tight) but need to cut bolt off and revise earth point.

Check the wiring everywhere, it will be a loose connection, check the coil connections first, had that problem before.
