Right so its time to put some driving lights on the GQ. Doing a bit of looking i see that the Lightforce blitz 240's are very popular and not too pricey. I'm not sure which way to go so i have a few questions and would like to hear everyones personal choise and experience.
I just bought 2 small LED bars from the roof, they are flood lights so i want some spotties for the front bar.
What is the difference between the Blitz and XGT's?
Is it worth the extra money for HID lights
Are there any other tuff Aussie made lights that are good value?
The 240 blitz xenophot lights are $350 pair, is that as good as it gets?
I have dual batteries but would i need a bigger alternator if running lots of accessories?
Thanks in advance for any advice. :bananadancing:

... Yes, but I would buy an Ebay Kit and do my own mod rather than buy retail

... Could be wrong but AFAIK Lightforce are about the only Driving Light designed and made here so... No

... Depends, might get a good second hand set for less

... Depends what accessories and if they are all on together. Add up the amperage (or wattage) and see what the total is. If the total is close to teh Alternator rating then a bigger Alt is adviseable. Don't forget that the Alternator won't be putting out max rating if you are doing a fair bit of low RPM work.
PS... your a Qlder... the night shifts and liking banana's are unrelated

What about good old Narva Bull Lamps, you can get them on ebay for under $200 and with a HID upgrade you will be able to see into the next day.

I would recommend a set of lightforce xgt's with the hid upgrade I offer a 70w hid kit with internal ballasts for these so they are plug and play

Lightforce all the way I have both 240 blitz (on my GQ) and 55w XGT hid's on my GU. The lights on the gq have been fully submerged while on and have taken an absolute punishment and are still going strong they put out ample amount of light for a halogen. The XGT are awesome heaps of light and so far have been good. I do believe light force were at the top of every category and a magazine test apart from light bars and led lights as they dont do them.

I had lightforce 170 strikers on my BT50 and they were great, have narva 175's on the troll and hate them. Will be getting some lightforce ones when coin permits and put the narva's in the wifes car
