Hi all, recently took the gamble with a 2007 (MY06) GUIV (last of the DiD motors).

46,000km, full service history, paid $32,000.....seemed reasonable :)

I'm pretty religious when it comes to servicing so fingers crossed we have a long happy relationship.

This Patrol is replacing my 97 GU 4.5L with close to 470,000kms on the clock. It's still going, though is getting pretty gutless while still using a shit load of fuel! Plus it has the Patrol wobbles badly in the front end, need to get the rubbers replaced asap. I'll keep it for a fishing/basher mobile.

Now just have to organise some spotties, dual battery setup, boost gauge and egt and I'll be happy enough.

Thanks gents.

So what does everyone think, did I make a wise decision going the diesel route or am I risking financial ruin?

Welcome maxblack.
I would say you have made a wise decision there max, and as you stated above, you are on the ball with your services so your new found affair should be a long and happy one.
But I would still be looking at fitting N,A,D,S. just to be on the safe side.
