I brought this back home to Tuncurry last month it was sold by the Nissan dealer here in town and went south to the Central coast for a few years , sadly since new it inherited this awfull bullbar it was first thing to go my wife and family refused to be seen in the Patrol until it was gone my wife said i dont care what it costs just get rid of that bar fast :-) .
in the first 2 weeks i added new Dobinson Coils repainted those rear bar ends.
Fitted the new bar and winch , put in an 80 channel uhf ,
Renewed several front bush,s ( it had the death wobbles at 80 klm per hour ) wobbles never went untill i did the panhard bush on the front drivers side ,
new brakes , interior lights , new cig lighter socket , new sway bar links ,
then tightened all the fan belts as the previous owner had a new alternator and battery fitted but the mechanics left all the adjusters loose and of course the mechanics also did not put the side plastic covers back on to keep the mud and slush away from the new gear so i had to buy a new cover for that side as it also left the turbo exposed.
As well as this is i also noticed the alternator is wrong ,the auto electrician fitted something similar and had to make an adaptor for the alt wiring. :-(
i also replaced the cd player as unit was faulty ,
All the relays in the engine bay had been fiddled with and one was full of water also all the relays were left hanging instead of clipped into brackets
, i fitted remote central locking new glow plugs and lastly the 33 inch muddies (tyre fitters left the wheel nuts loose just hand tight )
i wonder how all these people stay in business no one seems to want to complete a job properly any more ??????
i usually do all my own mechanicals ( i think i know why ) but any way now the Patrol is running and looking good and getting 11 litres per hundred , and thanks to the forum for the help along the way cheers Paul
