Rear wheel carrie

Hi All,
After going through the DIY forum it has inspired me to make my own rear bar, for the GU
2/3rds of the way through.
Has the extra weight made any difference to the rear hight of the patrol for those who already have a rear wheel carrier, I have old man emu shocks all ready in place

G'day mate, just wondering the same thing as you, I want to make my own rear bar but am worried about the extra weight. Have you finished yours yet? If so did it make a difference? What did your bar end up weighing after completion? I've been told to use 4mm wall steel which is very heavy. Any info would be appreciated. Do you have photo's of yours completed?
