Originally from the Seattle area I spend some time aboard the HMAS Melbourne while in the USN. That got me hooked on Aus. Many years later we moved, worked and became citizens here hence "dually's". I have always liked the Patrol but bought a couple other vehicles before getting my first GU ST-L 4.8 dual fuel. I loved it's power but wasn't wild on the color or having to drive 22kms to get gas. I found a '04 ST with the right engine, 4.2TD, right color, white/grey, and moderate kms, 87K. So I had two but a wife that was not too happy about that. The ST-L was eventually sold and so I've turned my attention to restoring/upgrading the 4.2. I've added a 3" SS exhaust, had Berrima Diesel do an injector tuning, tore out the interior and put Solvaris (dynamat like) sound proofing on 3/4 of the interior, added a DigiOptions GPS/MMU system and Pioneer speakers.

I'm looking to upgrade the suspension as this 4.2 ST doesn't ride as well as the 4.8 ST-L along with 17" rims and tyres versus 16" which are on there now. Always open to suggestions as to where to add upgrades, long range fuel tanks are also in the future.

Enjoy the forum and information ...
