IMHO I dont think a 5mm bigger rotor [316mm] will stop any better than the 306mm rotor
The more you increase your diameter, the surface area of the rotor increases exponentially. It's a pretty big deal.

@Cuppa if you want your brakes to work properly
[better] then book it in at "Hopper Stoppers" in
Hoppers Crossing, they can make anything stop
on a dime, Dont have their number but would be easy to find
@Winnie how much of that extra 5mm is being used??,
I agree with @Kimbo63 the calipher upgrade is doing all the work

Just maybe mr nissan thought that people would buy the biggest engine for towing and gave it the larger diameter rotors and calipers.
finished crying lol

You need to actually drive a Patrol that has done the conversion to see for yourself...
Its not just the larger rotor. The master cylinder and caliper pistons are larger on the 4.8's. I was going through my crash cam recordings last night, as it was recording whilst I was getting the brake test done by the engineer. A comment came up over the cam from the driver saying how good this(my) Patrol stops. And they are very surprised as they don't often get good brake results from a Patrol.
Doing the 4.8 brakes and braided brake lines is by far one of the best things I have done to the Patrol.
AND the test was done with Genuine Nissan Pads....

Rear disc conversion Ian. Although less surface contact area using disc over drum, but you have more clamping power on a disc and less the chance of brake fade due to heat.

Get rid of the patrols bias valve and put an adjustable bias valve in. Then you will see a notable improvement.
