Most tanks do. If you one doesn't. use a suction pump with a fuel hose attached to pump all the fuel out of it.

Hello bloke. Welcome to the forum.

8 litres of petrol is not a huge amount. Fill your tank with diesel and motor on. You may notice engine temps become marginally higher.

Given it is the reserve use it up little by little and there should be no drama.

Fear not it happens to the brightest and stupidest ( I fall into this category ) of us all!

You should be able to siphon most of it out, fill it with diesel and roll on. You probably wont notice a thing.

Put a full tank of petrol in my Hiace, fortunately realized before it was started. It was siphoned as there is no drain plug, fuel lines flushed filled up and no problem. Being a common rail they dont like petrol.

Did it at the Taree west servo, two rows of pumps are set out differently and habit grabbed the wrong one on the other side, DOH! Our mechanic said he gets one a week from there because of that.

    Are you from Bobin?
    Cheers

G'day mate and welcome to the forum. As others said if you get a full tank of diesel and just burn the petrol in the mix it should be ok. I presume you mean the sub tank, so just run a bit out of the main tank and pump a bit of petrol mix from the sum to the main and top up the sub with diesel. After a couple of top ups the mix will be pretty much all diesel anyway.

    petrol in reserve tank

    IMG_1438.JPG

Was able to use flexable clear Hose to syphon reserve tank YIPPEEE!!!
Then my problems started could not remove syphon hose. WHY?
Solution I had to remove tank see attached photos.
As you try to remove hose from tank it gets trapped on spring loaded cap.

    Thanks for all the replies

Had to get my better half to type this reply
