    tb48de engine rebuild

Hello, I'm currently rebuilding my y61 tb48de engine with a new cylinder block, crankshaft, main bearings, new connecting rods and bearings, new pistons and rings etc. Basically every single thing is new in the engine.
Now my only problem is the main bearing cap bolts torque settings.
Can anyone shed some light on this matter. I really need professional help. Please.
    Thanx.

Nice. Can't help with the torque settings, but I am interested in how you go.

Thnx bud. I have all the info needed to rebuild a tb48de and I'm very confident in doing so. The funny thing is that I even know the sequence in which I have to torque the main cap bolts. All I need are the torque settings.
This engine will be a boost engine putting down close to 800whp (fingers crossed).
Come on guys give me something!

Looking at Haynes repair manual, I have the following:

    Camshaft:
    Bearing cap bolts:
    first stage: No 13 to 16: 2Nm
    Second stage: No 1 to 12: 2Nm
    Third Stage: No 1 to 16: 6Nm
    Forth Stage: No 1 to 16: 12Nm

hope that helps. I can scan all the torque settings tonight if its helpful.

    Cheers
    Jason.

Try downloading the manuals available on the forum. There is quite a lot of reading to get that info.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

And a nightmare sifting through everything looking for the info you're looking for

I have the Haynes repair manual and it doesn't list the crankshaft cap specs per se, I would go with something that feels reasonable.
