Hey mate, haven't really "finished" it yet, although it's been in the car for two years, just have more important projects. It's just cleverly strapped down front and back and doesn't move any where. It's the perfect height for an arm rest, and the drink holders are in a more convenient location than the factory ones. Ultimately I would like to make a proper frame up that it suits on as the surface underneath it isn't flat, and make some proper fixing points to mount it without messy straps. While I was at it I would box out the handbrake frame also which is currently visible by me only which is why it isn't too much of a bother.

Those Waeco jobs are useless I got rid of mine.
try finding a Waeco or engel product list they have
units for under the seat that slide out. Might be better off looking what
is available for Trucks more than 4x4 even a caravan might have options for smaller fridges
    @rustynail

Mine are black vynyl just stop all the cr%%p fallind down in between the seat and the console, just a thought

Nothing wrong with the one Nic has. It is a proper compressor fridge and works just the same as a full size portable fridge.
It's a bloody great idea and I am jealous!

I think you guys are comparing different tech...
Coolers that will only pull down approx 20 ambient are Peltier Effect tech not Compressor and are also often but not always warmers.
Fridge/Freezers that will pull down 35 to 40 (or more for the top of the wozza like Nat Luna) are using compressor tech.

    National Luna use Danfoss compressors
Engel (owned by Sawafuji) use a unique swing compressor
Waeco (owned by Dometic) was 100% Danfoss but now use Waeco compressors in most if not all there fridges
Dometic use I don't know what but think it is there own manufacture, could be wrong tho
Budget brands almost exclusively use Danfoss cause Danfoss churn 'em out by the millions (literally)
El Cheapos use god knows what

All are rotary Compressors 'cept Engel, Danfoss have several specs IE the Danfoss in a National Luna is NOT the same spec as one in an Ebay special

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

    Nice work Nic.

I had one of the cooler/warmer ones in my surf. Worked well. Will like to do it in the Patrol one day....

Honestly mate I use it all the time. It's such a handy fridge, perfect even for throwing lunch in for work or something frozen from the supermarket on a hot day
