Yep, they're bloody great aren't they. I love chopping wood, but it's harder than it used to be these days. We split 5M of redgum last weekend with a ram splitter. Better in every way.

Bitter_Sweet. At least we still have electricity (Uninterrupted Pwr Supply).

Was woken up to this crashing down this morn 0530hrs.

Bit of sorting out to be done today (busy). Hope all is OK with batteries inside, issue will be getting it off roof and see what is going on.

Gen (red unit) looks OK. Just missed water tank.

Good luck with that Bidja. Had similar in the past, but it was a hay barn mine took out. Needed a 4wd cherry picker to cut it out. At least I had no solar battery set up to worry about.

    Picked up my welder today.
Had a quick little play with it and pretty happy so far. Found an old trolley at work and grabbed some scrap. 1st pic is first attempt 4mm, happy that with a descent hammer not of it come apart, that's gasless. Will have to set up the wire tension/speed correctly, but with some more practice it will do me fine.

Also got my meat to make beef jerky over the weekend .

Looks really good. I am still struggling to get my Rossi 130amp unit to lay a decent bead. Understanding that all welders are different, could you tell me the speed and power/voltage settings you are using? This might put me onto a quicker success path. I have done the internal reconfiguration to run on gas now, but looking at your gasless results I might just swing it back for a trial.
    Thanks

Might be the person operating the welder. Lol
@jaysee you should find that using gas will stop the spatter you have around your welds. From what I was told anyhow. The gas is there to form a shield around the weld to hold the heat in for a cleaner weld. So I was told again.... I've never tried gasless on my mig.

Your right on the spatter Mark gas is cleaner. I'll grab some anti spatter from work next week and try that.

Got to use the Patrol today!

MB called me this morning with a lady who had slid off the road at the bottom of my street into a ditch so had to pull her out.

Highlight of my Covid ISO week

Yep. Practice makes perfect they say. My welds usually resemble chicken poo, but to my surprise my last attempt on the ARB bar, thankfully came out pretty good. I think I just lucked it with the right amp setting, wire speed and gas. I bet the next time they wont be so neat.
