Cool My Intro , sports cars to 4x4s

Hello guys and thanks for having me!

so heres some background on me and how i got here!
iv always been a car guy, from young age always loved fast light racing machines, drifting, rallying, circuit and cool street machines. im actually english moved to aus. so in the UK there is barely any patrols, landcrusier etc. might see the odd farmer rocking a land rover but very little offroad vehicles. so being more into fast low cars and growing up with my new found aussie mates hardcore into the 4x4s, and then training to become qualified mechanic i knew i was in for some work ahead of me.. i owned mostly street/drift nissan silvia S14, S15, 180sx and lots of random cars all with various levels of modifications, and then eventually a subaru impreza rx wagon. put the biggest tyres i could fit on the standard rims, locked into 50-50 4wd and got my first taste of off-road freedom! driven many 4x4s as a mechanic and mates owning them but never got a proper one for myself. the subaru was a good laugh however!

fast forward a few years and now im building all kinds of cars, at this point in time im doing a RB25DET into a 1990 GQ RB30. previously built a pretty nuts RB25DET GU and done modifications engine wise to many others. fitting aftermarket gear, fabricating parts etc

forum is very legit looking! i must say i understand the point of the intro posting, but i am running out of things to say now, so thats it for the history and onto the task at hand.

i am currently trying to track down some diagrams showing rb30 gq dash cluster wiring to connect speed signal output from car(speed sensor reluctor -> dash cluster -> square wave output to ecu for road speed calculations) we are using stock R32 GTS-T RB20DET ecu with a Nistune chip installed so this is a factory feature that must be implemented due to fuel economy/fuel cut/speed limiter/idle control effects. now i haven't tested it but i know that this setup requires it so wanting to make it exactly like the original skyline setup so we don't run into issues when tuning high road speed on the dyno.

i haven't found exactly what i need yet but my theory is that since the rb30 etc do not have an ecu engine control unit, would this function be present on all clusters? if so i need to work out how it should be pinned to extract the signal to feed to the ecu. speed sensor cannot simply be tapped into without the cluster from my current understanding, and im unsure if all clusters would be able to produce the signal required.

now the intro is over i hope i can find the info i need on here. and thank you very much for keeping such a great resource going strong! i hope to share with you all some of my knowledge, pics and info on my builds
