No, upsize to 35's, but need to do the numbers on the final cruise RPM. The portals have a 16% reduction, so maybe I am going to come close regards the magic 1900rpm cruise rate - don't know yet, one for 'the list' , thanks

Kut Snake injection moulded flares will sort out the flares quickly and cheaply, they would ma me you custom width if needed I reckon or just add narrow extensions to their flares

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

It will lose handling any shift and cog will cause that.
Then their is also the fact that they are worth as much if not more than the car. Sell it and get an
UNIMOG if you want height, ability to run
48" tyres, 100+:1 through the transfer plus a gvm much more than your patrol.
AND THEY HAVE PORTALS FROM FACTORY
Don't get upset about this stuff I try to think about these things logically.
Fixed it for ya

Hydraulic drop down side steps? A lot of American trucks run them... can't recall seeing too many here though....

There used to be a guy on here called portal pat and he did a build. Not sure if he's still on here or not, or his info is still relevant.

Just spoke with Marks 4x4 again, this time to the portal guy. Seems there were a LOT of hurdles to get the last GQ with portals over the line - this one was also fitted with a 6.5Chev diesel. He is going across to the engineers this morning to confirm if the headaches are resolved or not. Apparently the flares were a total nightmare and the snake racing ones and a set of fibreglass ones also didnt fit with the 35" tyres, because they didn't want to modify the guard profile - which we all know is required. So this might just fail before it starts - changes to the VSB 14 rules are the headache. Maximum overall height of the vehicle is another issue, so springs would have to drop overall height close to standard, more bloody springs - just what I need.
